About Mengyuan (Isabel) Le
Le is an innovative and insightful cross-disciplinary visual storyteller based in Shanghai and London, with international experience from diverse industries such as theater, architecture, art and tech, etc. She holds a MFA degree in Scenic Design from University of Washington, and received a bachelor degree in Architecture from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
As a collaborator in world-renowned teams ranging from the Broadway show design team to the leading global AI company, Le dedicates herself to the creation of groundbreaking spatial and experience narratives, with the use of cutting-edge technology, from strategy to delivery. Le is a member of Lincoln Center Theater Directors’ Lab 2018.
Her recent works include: Immersive Sci-fi Experience The Three-body Problem: Beyond Gravity (Shanghai), A virtual idol ALiCE and her DJ performance in the club Master (Shanghai), Einstein’s Dreams (Off-Broadway Musical), Pippin, Twelve Ophelias (Seattle Shakespeare Festival), Iphigenia and the Other Daughters, The Clark Doll, Caffé Cino, Speaking As Then, etc.
Associate/Assistant Design works include: Immersive Spectacle: E-Pang Palace (to be opened in Xi’an, China), Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (Tony Award Winner for Best Scenic Design of a Play), The Band’s Visit (Tony Award Winner for Best Scenic Design in a Musical), Mean Girls (Tony Award Nominee for Best Scenic Design in a Musical), The Cher Show (Broadway Musical), The Prom (Broadway Musical), 170 Days in Nanking (International Opera Awards Nominee), Passing Strange (Wilma Theater), Mr.Zhang’s Philosophy, etc.

香港中文大学建筑系学士，美国华盛顿大学舞台设计系硕士。目前为人工智能公司商汤科技的艺术指导，创作沉浸式科幻体验《三体·引力之外》。 旅美期间参与过多部百老汇戏剧的设计，和当代舞台设计泰斗乔治·西平先生合作多年。曾作为剧场设计师受邀参与过纽约林肯中心剧院国际导演创作坊。
参与设计作品： 音乐剧：《爱因斯坦的梦》、《彼平正传》、《乐队来访》、《辣妹过招》、《雪儿秀》、《陌路相逢》、《毕业舞会》等； 话剧：《哈利波特与被诅咒的孩子》、《十二个奥菲利娅》、《伊菲革涅亚与其余女儿们》、《老张的哲学》、《克拉克娃娃》、《乡音未改》、《奇诺咖啡馆》 等； 歌剧：《拉贝日记》 沉浸式主题演出：《阿房宫》，虚拟偶像ALiCE的线下DJ演出等
